Battle of Gog/Magog On The Horizon?

Recently, I was listening to a nationally syndicated radio program, and the host made an astonishing observation. She described a recent trip she took to Israel. She talked about looking over the border into Syria. Then she dropped a line that grabbed my attention. She said, “When you look over the border today, you’re not looking at Syria anymore. You’re looking at Russia, Iran, and Turkey.”

Recent News and My Views

First, on July 3, 2018, it was reported that an Iranian Brigadier General accused Israel and one other unidentified country of stealing Iran’s clouds and snow. He believes the severe drought that has plagued Iran for several years is the result of Israel using a weapon to keep it from raining in Iran. This is my thinking: God promised to bless those that bless Israel and to curse those curse Israel.

Daily Jot: Of fools and foolishness

There is a lot written about fools in the Bible. Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” And Proverbs 1:22 asks, “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scoffers delight in their scoffing, and fools hate knowledge?” Proverbs 16:22 says, “Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools is folly.” Ecclesiastes 7:5 tells us, “It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.” The Bible is down on fools. With that as a backdrop, it is amazing how society tolerates foolishness brought on by fools. Of course, many of them are well educated, but that doesn’t make them wise.

Daily Jot: Day of Liberty Part I–The Situation

Rasmussen Reports that a survey of 1,000 likely voters conducted June 21-24 indicated that 59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Donald Trump’s policies will resort to violence, and 31% believe there will be a second Civil War within five years. Couple this with a former president praising the “resistance” efforts of Organizing For America, Antifa and other organizations; Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) calls for people to deny food services to those who agree with Trump. Democrats are embracing Democrat Socialist Congressional nominee Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s call for a “progressive” revolution. As we approach Independence Day, our country faces a threat to all liberty.

The hypocrisy of the coup-makers

The owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va refused to serve White House Press Secretary Sara Huckabee and her seven family members Friday night. The owner said she asked Huckabee and her party to leave because the restaurant upheld certain standards of “honesty, compassion and cooperation.” The owner said that she was upset because of President Trump’s policies on immigration and banning transgender people from the military. Last week, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was chased out of a Mexican restaurant by a mob of “Democratic Socialists” and protesters at her home yelled, “No peace, no sleep.” Protests are erupting across the country.

Gog and Magog, Natural Disasters, and Evolution

Amir noted that U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman would soon meet in Washington with Pres. Trump’s Senior Advisor, Jared Kushner, and his Chief Envoy, Jason Greenblatt, to discuss the president’s Middle East Peace Proposal before the latter two men travel to Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and perhaps other places for meetings with leaders in those nations.

Commiserating with Lot

The story of Lot, of Sodom and Gomorrah, is also a dramatic picture of all of mankind in its fallen state. The story foreshadows how the human race always chooses the ways of the world that take people farther and farther from their Creator.

Lot, despite being among the lost, debauched thousands of Sodom, was nonetheless considered righteous in the eyes of that Creator -the God of Heaven. There is one thing more we know about this nephew of the great progenitor of the people that would become Israel. Lot was sorely vexed. The story of the sorely vexed Lot can be found in the 19th chapter of the Book of Moses–Genesis.

A Date To Remember

We can’t know the exact date, but the date the Son of God hung on a cross, died, was buried and rose again has touched the world like no date before or after. The date the King of kings and Lord of lords returns will have no equal, and this is another date we cannot pinpoint at this time. Yet, there is a third date that falls between the cross and the return of Jesus Christ at the end of the seven year period commonly known as the Tribulation. This date is known as the Rapture.
