THE PLAN OF SALVATION

 

  1. THE CONDITION OF THE SINNER
  2. Everyone is a sinner (Rom. 3:23).

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

  1. No one can save themselves (Eph. 2:8).

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  1. THE CONDEMNATION OF THE SINNER
  2. The penalty of sin is death (Rom. 6:23).

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

  1. The sinner is under condemnation (John 3:18).

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18).

  • THE CONCERN OF THE SINNER
  1. God’s gift to the sinner (John 3:16).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

  1. God’s demonstration of love (Rom. 5:8).

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

  1. THE CONFESSION OF THE SINNER
  2. The sinner must believe (Rom. 10:4, 9-10).

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:4,9-10).

  1. The sinner must confess (Matt. 10:32).

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).

  1. THE COMMITMENT OF THE BELIEVER
  2. He must dedicate his life to God (Rom. 12:1-2).

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2).

  1. HE MUST BE OBEDIENT (John 14:15).

“If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).

Dear Lord, I confess that you, Jesus, are the Son of God, that you died on the cross, arose from the grave and ascended to the right hand of the Father. I understand that I was born a sinner and I ask forgiveness of my sins.  Thank you for saving me and help me live a life that is pleasing to you.
