The claim that Jesus is already reigning over the nations is extremely popular in churches today. Its pastors preach that Jesus is fulfilling the words of Psalms such as 2, 46, 96, and 110 at this moment.
My point is this: the use of allegory to reinterpret the words of biblical prophecy devalues the words of biblical prophecy and given enough time, leads to compromises with the world and the acceptance of its values. In the near-term, it leads to a denial of what the Bible says about the Rapture and an avoidance of talking about our “blessed hope.”
The last book in the Bible begins with these words: “The revelation of Jesus Christ.” From beginning to end, the prophetic account magnifies the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s all about His glory, sovereignty, and power.
“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”( II Thessalonians 2:9-12)
Mid-term elections 2018 are over. Civility is the talk of the pundits. Both sides of the great divide are calling for America to find common ground. Only one side, however, is serious about the proposal, in my view.
In our last sermon about this subject, we discussed Jesus teaching what the signs for the end of the age would be and who would be the recipients of these signs.
We know that it is more proper in context to use the “end of the age” as when Jesus comes back to rule for 1000 years, it will be on this very earth we now populate, but with major revisions to return the earth to it’s former glory when Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden.
Are the Jews saved under one covenant and the Gentiles saved under another or is Jesus the only way to be saved?
