Corruption Invites Judgment

Corruption Invites Judgment – By Grant Phillips –

Most in our society today have the erroneous belief that we Christians must compromise with the world and its beliefs and “just get along.” Certainly we are not advocating an unloving and uncaring attitude, but that isn’t what Scripture teaches. Compromise is not always good, and in the case of Scriptural truth it is definitely not good.

When the Holy Word of God says that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father it cannot be compromised. When it says Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died, and rose again it cannot be compromised. When it says that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, in fact God, it cannot be compromised.

Major truths of the Bible, such as those in the previous paragraph, and others, cannot be compromised, and what God calls sin cannot be compromised.

Whether or not we sing from a hymnal or a screen on the stage is a matter of preference. Whether we sing old hymns, southern gospel, or contemporary music is irrelevant. Whether the pastor wears jeans or a suit is not an issue, and whether he uses a pulpit or not, doesn’t matter. These are like arguing over the color of the carpet. Who cares? Compromise!

But when churches start ordaining homosexuals we have a serious problem. Should we love these who have chosen this type of sin? Absolutely, just as much as we would love those filled with pride! Sin is sin. We most certainly should love the sinner and pray for them, but we absolutely should not support the sin.

When churches turn a blind eye to fornication and adultery it is wrong. It is not a time to compromise. When parishioners lie, steal and cheat, the church must not keep silent … but most of the time, it does.

Those of us who call ourselves Christians should first and foremost recognize that we may be saved, but we are saved sinners. We used to sin, and we still sin. That doesn’t mean we just keep our mouth shut and accept blatant sin that is shoved in our faces on a daily basis.

Some would have us believe that we who are “conservative” Christians are just too belligerent. We are trouble makers. We want to point out everyone’s sin but ours. Maybe that’s true of some, but it isn’t true of all. What are we supposed to do, just sit back and keep quiet? Keeping quiet is exactly why the church is in such a pitiful state today. Apostasy in today’s church is like a cankerous sore that is eating it alive from the inside out, and few are willing to use so much as a band-aide to draw attention to this terminal disease. Those who do, get “called on the carpet” for being unwilling to “get along.”

Jesus called us out to love one another, and He also said,

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Matthew 10:34-35

“The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.” Luke 12:53

Now He is not sending us out to pick a fight with anyone who disagrees with us. He is simply saying that His Truth is so controversial and adamant it will cause divisions. The problem arises when so many who claim Him as Lord do not serve Him. They will not speak His Truth. They just want to compromise. When a few do speak the Truth they are labeled as trouble-makers. So be it.

Surely by now we can see what compromising has gotten us, major problems within the churches. When corruption is allowed to fester it will not heal, it will just continue to rot. This is where many of our churches in America are today, full of rot. No wonder Jesus will spew many out of His mouth. We stinketh!

The only thing that has even a sliver of a chance in postponing judgment on our churches and our country, for a short period, is repentance on our part. Otherwise, judgment is coming, and in my opinion, it will be here much sooner that most of us think.

God has always warned those He is about to judge, and we have warnings flying around like fireflies (lightning bugs) on a dark night. Unfortunately, too many of us aren’t seeing them. That isn’t God’s fault. They’re here. Look around. Get in the Word. Look around some more. Just don’t take too long.

I realize the following verse was written specifically to Israel, but it is still a promise we can depend on if we take Him seriously and repent.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Notice God isn’t addressing this to those who are not His. He is addressing this to His people, in our case, the Church.

Is judgment coming? Yes it is, but maybe He will postpone it for a short time if we would just admit to Him we have sinned and ask His forgiveness.

Pre-Rapture Commentary:

Rapture Ready

Noah, Lot, and Us

Noah, Lot, and Us – Ron Graham –

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” Luke 17:26-27. It sounds as if the days of Noah (Noe) were lots of fun. They ate and drank, they married. They were regular guys who just wanted to have fun, right? Not really. The days of Noah were filled with evil. It was all around and even touched the animals. It became so evil that God was forced to destroy all men, women, children, and animals. Knowing the love that God has for His creation, whatever went on, whatever the evil was, had to have been worse than anything we have seen. Or was it?

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5. That sounds a lot like today’s world. When we read the headlines in our newspapers we can’t ignore the fact that evil is increasing. Homosexuality, abortion, killers in movie theaters, cannibalism, child abductions and molestations, husbands killing wives, mothers killing children, leaders of nations committing genocide…I could fill this commentary with the evil that is all around us. This evil is all satanically inspired as it always has been. Satan has tried for thousands of years to come between mankind and God and the events prior to the Flood of Noah were an all-out effort to make the redemption of man impossible. He failed, as he always will, but Jesus referred to the days of Noah, and also the days of Lot, when explaining the end times to His disciples.

Understanding Genesis chapter 6 and the evil that was happening prior to the Flood is imperative to enable a person to understand much of the Bible, and also for discerning the times in which we currently live. What was the evil that was so wicked in Noah’s day? Many people believe that the wickedness that prompted God to destroy His creation, including men, women, children, animals, and vegetation, was that Seth’s sons married Cain’s daughters. Really? After Cain killed his brother Abel he was worried that he would be killed also. “And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.” Genesis 4:15. Those who buy into the Sethite view of Genesis 6 need to explain why God would protect Cain the murderer but destroy the entire Creation because Cain’s daughters and Seth’s sons married. I am amazed at the stories Satan plants in men’s minds in order to cover the truth. I’m amazed that people buy into Satan’s lies. There is no Biblical support for the “Sethite” view. On the other hand, if you believe God’s word instead of contrived stories you will come to understand what was really happening in the days of Noah. It was pure evil and Scripture says it happened more than once.

The “sons of God” were fallen angels and many of them were mating with human women. “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair: and they took them wives of all which they chose.” Genesis 6:1-2. Even in English that’s fairly easy to understand. It says “the sons of God” not “the sons of Seth”. The Hebrew words are “ben ‘elohiym”. This refers to a direct creation by God…Adam was a direct creation, but Seth was not. Angels are a direct creation of God whether they have fallen or not. The creatures created from this union were neither human nor angelic, they were hybrids; their souls could not be redeemed from the curse brought on by Adam’s sin. God loves His creation as He created it and this wickedness had to be stopped before there were no pure (in their physical human makeup) humans left. People chose to stay blind to what was happening; they ate, drank, and went on with their lives. When the Flood came everyone perished except for the eight people who listened to God. Those who hold to any view other than that of fallen angels procreated with human women who gave birth to hybrids (Nephilim), are only diluting Biblical truth. We see hybrids being created today and evil all around, yet even Christians are eating, drinking, and ignoring what is happening. The Sethite view of Genesis 6 is a blatant attempt at corrupting God’s inerrant word.

Now, what about Lot? “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.” Luke 17:28-29. Once again these people seem like just regular people doing regular things. It’s interesting, though, that this time they aren’t marrying or giving in marriage.

Lot was Abraham’s nephew and they traveled together. Their fortunes grew and it became necessary for them to go their separate ways. Abraham let Lot choose where he wanted to go, and Lot looked around and saw the plain of Jordan and its beauty. “Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.” Genesis 13:11. Lot made his choice. For all of its beauty and assets it was also where Sodom was. Sodom was a city filled with sin. “But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.” Genesis 13:13. God will not tolerate sin, and later we are given a glimpse of the evil that thrived there. Lot’s move toward evil was gradual. First he was drawn to the plain of Jordan, which was lush and would support his cattle easily. “Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.” Genesis 13:12. Was the real draw Sodom? Time went on and the evil in Sodom became so bad that God had to send judgment. Two angels, angels who had not fallen, were sent to execute judgment, but first they had to get Lot out of there. “And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom…” Genesis 19:1a. Lot, who had been drawn to the plain of Jordan and separated from his uncle, ended up being an official in the city of Sodom. Well, we all know the story. The wicked men of Sodom descended upon Lot’s house, where the angels were staying, and wanted Lot to send the angels out so they could “know” them. Homosexuals? Yes they were, but in Jude we get a little more information “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 1:6-7. The men of Sodom went after “strange flesh”, meaning they wanted the angels for carnal purposes. The Greek word “heteros” is translated “strange” and means “a different kind”. Lot even offered to send his daughters out to them, but the men of Sodom wanted the angels. The angels removed Lot, his wife, and his daughters before God’s judgment began. Fire and brimstone rained down to destroy Sodom, Gomorrah, and the surrounding cities. God does not tolerate messing up the gene pool and the homosexuality and lust after angels was corrupting humanity like the days before the flood.

Angels are often recorded in the Bible looking like men. They are always male, never female. When the three beings appeared to Abraham just before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, they sat with Abraham and ate a meal with him. They were attended to as guests. Their feet were washed, they ate and drank, they participated in normal conversation, and by all appearances were men. With that premise in mind, why then can we not conceive of fallen angels participating in procreation with human women? You might bring up the statement our Lord Jesus made. “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.” Matthew 22:30. Nowhere in that verse is Jesus saying angels can’t procreate. He says the angels of God (godly angels not fallen ones) “in Heaven” do not marry (procreate). He doesn’t mention fallen angels bent on the destruction of humans.

What about today? Surely we are far above such behavior. If not, surely God has changed His mind about such this subject. No, we are not above such behavior and God has not changed His mind about it. Watch the news and you will see the days of Noe and the days of Lot played out before your eyes. The lack of respect for God is appalling. Same sex marriage is being pushed on us “… as it was in the days of Lot…” Gene manipulation is becoming commonplace “…as it was in the days of Noe…” There are “scientific” discussions as to how human is human. Scientists splice genes together in order to create something new, but if part of the splice is human is it all human? What rights does it have? There are debates over whether or not it is ethical to kill a creature that has some human cells (laws require these spliced creatures to only grow for a few days), yet abortion is not given a second thought, although the child that is killed is fully human. Is our society today any different than Noah or Lot?

We have reached that period of time known as the last days, and the Lord’s return as imminent. I believe the “ekklesia” (the assembly of the called out) needs to come to grips with Genesis chapter six because those events are happening again, just as Jesus said. Gene manipulation is creating creatures that God never intended to exist. Once again it is Satan who is behind this attempt to thwart God’s plan. Many scientists are convinced that if people are crossed with cats our eyesight would improve, or if crossed with dogs our sense of smell will make our life better. The problem with that line of thinking is it is opposed to God’s way of thinking. Once cat genes are crossed with human genes you no longer have a cat or a human…you have a hybrid. “… as it was in the days of Noe…”

All of this leads to the fact that we are very close to the time of the end. The Rapture will happen soon and after that God will pour out His wrath. Have you been putting off accepting Christ as your Saviour because you, like Lot, are lured by the wickedness of Sodom? Are you happy eating, drinking, and ignoring the evil around you? The time for delay is over. We cannot choose the time we live in, but we can choose where we spend eternity. Noah lived in days filled with evil yet he kept himself genetically pure and obeyed God in spite of the evil around him. Lot chose to live in Sodom amongst wicked men, but he chose not to join in their evil doings. If you have already accepted Christ as your Saviour be sure that you do not join in the evil happening all around you. If you have delayed accepting Christ because you think you are having fun living in the world, you are wrong. Today…this very minute…you need to make your choice. Tomorrow may be too late.

God bless you all,

The Spirit of Antichrist

The Spirit of Antichrist – By Daymond Duck –

A few years ago I wrote an article about this, but the blatant arrogance, lying and lawlessness of President Obama has prompted me to update and add to it with more recent examples.

I personally do not believe President Obama is the Antichrist for four reasons:

1) Because the Antichrist must rise to power after the 10 kings and they are not here (Dan.7:24).

2) Because the Antichrist must rise to power in Europe not the U.S. (Dan. 9:26).

3) Because the Antichrist can’t appear while the church is here.

4) Because President Obama is a very poor, indecisive, foolish leader; but he definitely has the spirit of Antichrist and he could be a type or forewarning of the Antichrist (1 Cor. 10:11).

The Antichrist will have a mouth speaking great things (Dan.7:8). Pres. Obama has been hailed as a great speaker.

The Antichrist will rise to power as a little horn, wax exceedingly great, and take over the world (Dan.7:8; 8:9; Rev.13:7-8). Two years before he ran for President of the United States, Mr. Obama was virtually unknown (a little horn). Today, he has great power and some want him to head up the New World Order (rule the world).

The Antichrist will seek to change laws (Dan.7:25). Pres. Obama has arbitrarily (some say illegally) changed laws. He has changed Obamacare more than 25 times; changed drug, immigration, and minimum wage laws without congressional approval, etc.

The Antichrist will wear out the saints (Dan.7:25). President Obama supported Mr. Morsi in Egypt and the rebels in Syria even though they were persecuting and killing Christians. He has tried to force Christians to pay for abortions, accept homosexuality, etc.

The Antichrist will magnify himself (Dan.8:11). President Obama was overheard telling French President Francois Hollande, “That’s the good thing about being president; I can do anything I want.” He thinks his words and actions are above question.

The Antichrist will cast down the truth (Dan.8:12). President Obama is a chronic liar whose promise: If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” was selected by PolitiFact as the 2013 “Lie of the Year.”

The Antichrist will destroy wonderfully (Dan.8:24). President Obama is destroying America’s military, healthcare system, Constitution, economy, etc. and he is not through.

The Antichrist will rise to power as a man of peace (Dan. 8:25). President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing. He crafted a peace plan for the Middle East and said, “America will never give up.”

The Antichrist will break his covenant (Dan.9:27). President Obama has broken many agreements (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel, etc.). At this point, he has not kept America’s treaty to protect Ukraine’s borders.

The Antichrist will do according to his will (Dan.11:36). President Obama said, “We’re not just going to be waiting for legislation . . . . I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone.” He was saying he will do according to his will.

The Antichrist will not regard the god of his father (Dan.11:37). President Obama’s father is a Muslim whose god is Allah, and President Obama denies that his god is Allah.

The Antichrist will exalt himself (Dan.11:36-37; 2 Thess.2:4). Someone said, “Pres. Obama loves the man in the mirror.” He trashes everyone who disagrees with him; calls them extremists, domestic terrorists, racists, un-American, has the IRS investigate them, etc.

The Antichrist will divide the land of Israel for gain (Dan.11:39). Pres. Obama supports the two-state solution. He wants the Jews to stop construction on the West Bank, divide the land, and give the West Bank to the Palestinians.

The Antichrist will be given power (Rev. 13:2, 4-5). Pres. Obama rose from Community Organizer to Pres. of the United States without being vetted or doing anything to earn (or qualify him for) the position. His power was more or less given to him.

The Antichrist will track what people buy and sell (Rev.13:16-18). Pres. Obama has transformed the domestic spy program started by President Bush into a global spy program. Also, Obamacare requires all Americans to carry a National ID Card with personal identity descriptions (face scans, etc.) to track people by May 2017.

The Antichrist will be a false messiah that is worshipped by many (Rev.13:8). Many have called Pres. Obama the Messiah, the one, etc. Some have rewritten Christian songs to praise him. One photo of him has the Shekinah Glory around his face.

The Antichrist will establish a world government (Dan.7:23; Rev. 13:7; 17:12-13). Candidate Obama expressed support for a “globalized world.”

Nearing Midnight: Is Gog Hooked?

Nearing Midnight: Is Gog Hooked? – Terry James –

Strange, fast-track things continue to be afoot at this late date of prophetic progression.

America is in swift decline, which those who observe the times in light of Bible prophecy from a futurist, pretribulation viewpoint have long said must happen. The demise is being deliberately orchestrated, in my view and the opinions of others. Many have long surmised that this must be the case, because such a great superpower–apart from the revived Roman Empire-is mentioned nowhere in prophecy yet future.

The European Union (EU)-that prophesied, end-times empire–despite occasional setbacks is on a rapid ascent within the panoply of nation-states. To add to the mix, this Catholic pontiff certainly seems to be working hard in at least preparing the stage for the second beast of Revelation chapter 13 in calling all religions-all peoples, for that matter-together in declaring that there are many ways to God and heaven. He is loved and adored by increasing millions from every religious order, it seems. World media love him, and this just might be the most powerful indicator of all of just what part he is set to play in the wind-up of the age.

Even evangelicals in the U.S. are joining in the welcome of the new pope and his call for unity. Just within the past week or two, ministers such as Kenneth Copeland have begun lauding Pope Francis’ praises for the pope having personally appealed to Copeland and others to join him in this ecumenical move toward uniting the world religiously.

At the same time, more and more evangelicals as well as others within Christendom are turning against Israel as the rightful heir to the land God gave that people. Replacement theology is the order of the day, while our own pretrib view and support for God’s chosen nation diminish daily, it seems. So-called Christian Palestinianism is on the rise-this meaning that Israel, according to those who hold to this “theology”–has no biblically guaranteed place in the world. The gist of the worldview is that the land should be given to the hapless Palestinians, with no thought to any God-given guarantee that some-like us-see in prophecy yet future.

The coalition of nations prophetically destined to come against Israel at the wind-up of human history this side of the Millennium is already in alignment, with the two chief nations of that attack closely in cahoots. Russia (Rosh) and Iran (Persia) are together in nefarious doings to threaten Israel and world peace with their progress toward developing nuclear weaponry. With the Gog-Magog forces gathering, there is a cry for peace and safety. The Roadmap to Peace might be the nucleus of the covenant made with death and hell prophetically scheduled, according to Daniel 9: 26-27 and Isaiah 28: 15, 18.

The man of sin is not in view, but we see prototypes in these days of strange doings. Certainly, we see the road for his coming to power being paved almost hourly. One senses the first beast of Revelation 13 must be waiting in the shadows, just behind the curtain of the end-times stage.

However, there is one prophetic power-player that just could be coming into his own position of last-days destiny. I, of course, am not the only one thinking this while we witness the geopolitical gyrations and machinations of one Vladimir Putin taking place. With ease, seemingly, he has outwitted and outbluffed the supposed leader of the free world and that leader’s secretary of state. While they make inane statements that Mr. Putin should be a good citizen and not act like someone out of the barbaric past, the Russian simply goes about the business of reassembling the Soviet Union with the only push-back consisting of diplomatic gobbledygook.

Wait! There is something about how the diplomats will handle the one known as Gog mentioned somewhere, isn’t there? Oh, yes! It is found in the prophet Ezekiel’s prophecy of the Gog-Magog attack: “Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?” (Ezekiel 38:13).

This sounds eerily familiar…not unlike the weak-kneed diplomatic protests we are hearing now while Mr. Putin has his way with Ukraine, does it not? Putin can’t let Ukraine remove too far from Russia’s sphere of direct influence. And he won’t.

Russian-owned natural gas and petroleum company, Gazprom, controls nearly one-fifth of the world’s gas reserves and supplies more than half of the gas Ukraine uses annually. Putin threatens to do away with the deal Russia had with the now deposed Ukrainian pro-Moscow president Viktor Yanukovych, because of opposition to Russian hegemony that is developing. The price rise (more than 30%) in gas supply would be disastrous to the already strapped Ukrainian economy.

On top of that threat, the Russian military, of course, has already intruded and awaits orders to bring that state back under total domination like in times of the USSR. Vladimir Putin apparently already has deeply within his tyrannical brain the thought to not only hang on to the energy resources Russia possesses, but to begin expanding Russian influence as he eyes the now gas-rich Israel to the south.

It is thought that Israel will soon make huge inroads into supplying Europe with the absolutely critical energy it needs, because of uncertainty over Russia’s future moves, militarily and otherwise. God’s Word has something to say about some future leader’s thinking and the ramifications that will result from his taking action on those “evil thoughts”:

“And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords” (Ezekiel 38:3).

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land” (Ezekiel 38:10-12).

Living Among the Wolves

Living Among the Wolves – Ron Graham –

Throughout the Bible we read of shepherds and sheep. Both the Old and New Testaments tell of the Lord being the shepherd who watches over His sheep, and the sheep are those who trust Him and follow Him. A shepherd protects his sheep, provides food and water for them, and searches for them if they became lost. The sheep are precious to the shepherd and they trust him. As Christians, we know that our Lord Jesus is our Good Shepherd and we are His sheep. “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” John 10:14. I don’t know about you but that verse gives me comfort. He is our shepherd and we shall not want for anything. Yes, we are in His protection, but there are wolves all around us waiting to harm us if we stray. Strange as it may seem, our Shepherd sends us out among the wolves. “Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.” Luke 10:3. Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem and said these words to His disciples. He sent them out before Him to the cities He would pass through on His way to Jerusalem. They were to tell people that Jesus was coming. Today, we are His disciples and He sends us among the wolves to give that same message. Jesus is coming and the lost wolves of this world need to hear that truth.

Who are the wolves? They are Satan’s followers… all unbelievers. Does that sound harsh? Does it sound as if I believe that non-Christians are on a wide path that leads to destruction? I do. You must understand what Jesus Himself tells us about unbelievers. Jesus said, “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me schattereth abroad.” Matthew 12:30. Who is against Jesus? Satan. So if you’re not with Jesus then you’re with Satan. That is bad company to be in. These wolves are everywhere. They are in our schools where the Bible is not welcome. They are news reporters who slant opinions to serve Satan and have us accept ungodly lifestyles. They are preachers who preach politically correct sermons in order to not offend the wolves in the pews but they don’t feed the sheep. The wolves are everywhere.

Believers, the sheep who hear and heed our Shepherds voice, are a target for the wolves of the enemy. Satan places a bull’s eye on those who are actually upholding God’s inerrant word and preaching the Gospel. He then directs his wolves to attack and destroy those targets. This satanic attack will become fiercer until Jesus removes His Ekklesia from planet earth. If you are one of those who actively follow Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel, you are currently wearing that target everywhere you go. Watch out for the wolves and don’t be devoured.

Quite often the wolves may look gentle and harmless. A sheep may even be tempted to join with the pack because they seem kind and not to be feared. We do have to live among the wolves, but we aren’t to join them. Partnerships, friendships, and marriage need to be between Christians. In most cases if a Christian chooses to join together with a nonbeliever, it is the Christian who will be expected to compromise their faith rather than the nonbeliever compromising their lack of faith. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14. Paul hit the nail on the head with that statement.

In order to avoid being devoured by the wolves, Christians need to know the voice of the Good Shepherd. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:27. How do we hear His voice? We need to read and study our Bible and take God’s word seriously. The words we read need to be applied to our life. The closer our walk with Jesus, the safer we are from the wolves. We won’t be led astray. King David, who was a shepherd himself, cried out to God “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10. Is that your plea to the Lord? Do you want to be right before the Lord? Study His word to know His ways. The more you read God’s word and apply it to your life, the easier it is to hear the Holy Spirit. He will help you to become bolder with sharing the Gospel with the wolves. By drawing closer to our Good Shepherd and living your life according to His ways you may just convince a wolf to become a sheep.

It may not be easy to stand firm on God’s word. Those who are lost wolves will hate us. Jesus said they would. “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world; therefore the world hateth you.” John 15:18-19. It is hard to understand why anyone would hate Jesus, but we are His and the world hates us too because we remind them of their sin. Remember that God hasn’t changed. He still views sin as sin, no matter what the wolves would have us believe. The world tries to make it seem as if Christians are wrong to stand against same sex marriage, abortion, and other sins that God abhors. We become the target of hate because our very presence reminds those who reject Christ that sin is wrong. Let me be very clear…we are not to hate sinners. In fact we all sin, but Christians understand that Christ paid a huge price for our salvation. We must not compromise our knowledge of God’s view of sin and His sacrifice on the cross in order to allow someone who is dying in their sin to feel good about it.

Christians are tempted to sin just like the lost wolves are. We know we are not to yield to temptation and if we are only listening to our Shepherds voice we will not be led astray; we won’t listen to those who would take us from the protection of the Good Shepherd. “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.” John 10:7-8. We belong to Jesus Christ and are His sheep. We are not Satan’s wolves. Believers in Christ are attentive only to our Lord’s voice and we follow Him and Him alone. We became the property of Jesus Christ at our conversion and we need to live our faith as we walk among the wolves. Our life needs to reflect Jesus instead of reflecting the worldly ways of the lost around us.

Satan’s agenda is to silence the body of Christ. Without men who are under his control, Satan could not move even one inch forward. He hates Christians and seems to be winning this spiritual war that rages around us. Why is it that if a wolf is offended by a Christian, it is the Christian who must keep quiet? If one wolf is offended by the phrase “Merry Christmas” the sheep have to put up with “Happy Holidays”. Christians need to stop being ashamed of Christ and not be silenced. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16. We may have to live among the wolves, but we don’t have to live like them. Brethren, study God’s word then start living like you are not ashamed of Him.

We need to be wary of those who claim to be Christians but have not truly accepted Christ. They are also wolves. “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15. A person may claim to be a Christian but that doesn’t mean they are born again. You might want to take a moment and examine your own walk with Jesus. Do you serve Him and Him alone, or are you a wolf in sheep’s clothing? “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” 1 John 2:4. You can say “I’m a Christian” but if you don’t keep His commandments you need to make some changes. Study His word and see what His commandments are, then pray and make the necessary changes in your life and attitudes. Don’t live with one foot in the world and think it is just fine with God. You can be sure that there will be a wolf there waiting to devour you.

Satan’s wolves are all around us, but as Christians our faith is in Jesus. He is our Shepherd and He alone can save us from the wolves. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4. If we have accepted Christ’s free gift of salvation, when we die we will not have to live among the wolves anymore. What a blessed day that will be. Until then we need to stay close to our Shepherd. Don’t live with a question mark regarding your salvation. If you have any doubt, resolve it now. There is a wolf waiting to discourage you and move you away from the protection of the Good Shepherd. Place your life in Christ’s hands and live for Him now. If you do, you will live forever with Him in eternity.

God bless you all,
