Skeletool's outside-accessible blade means, just like a pocket knife, it can be opened without delay with one hand. Bit driver technology means it is workable to customize the screwdriver for any job. Take a single bit that comes with the product, and can be kept in the handles, or integrate the Leatherman bit kit (sold separately) and there are upwards of 42 Hex, Robertson, Pozi, Torx, Phillips and Slotted bit extensions. Full-size pliers together with wire cutters and folding handles-as only Leatherman can manufacture them-are strong, comfortable and straightforward to use.
Two models of the tool, Leatherman Skeletool and Leatherman Skeletool CX began shipping worldwide in January 2008. The Skeletool model is stainless steel with a 420HC blade and retails for £69.95. Skeletool CX is also stainless steel but features DLC Tungsten coating for scratch protection and a 154CM straight blade that is very easy to sharpen. MSRP for the CX model is £89.95. The two versions are supplied with the impressive Leatherman 25 year warranty.
